2023/24 Executive Committee & Staff Update

The Executive Officer positions are now in place for the 2023/24 season. During the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 24th,2023, Ken Lenihan was elected by majority vote as VP Operations, while Brian Furdas was elected by majority vote as VP Competitive. Congratulations and thank you to both who continue to volunteer their time and effort to make BDMHA a great place to play hockey.

Following the AGM, Christien Lefebvre resigned as VP Development effective June 28th, 2023. We want to thank him for his efforts during the 2021/2022 season. His work in the role of VP Development has helped take BDMHA forward in coach and player development. He will be missed and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Prior to the AGM, a number of Executive Officers positions were acclaimed:

President:                   Jason Foster

VP Recreation:           Nancy Oldford

VP U7/U9:                   Megan Douglas

VP Development:       Christien Lefebvre (has since resigned)

On July 4th, The Executive Officers held a special meeting to welcome the new board members, discuss the upcoming season, and to appoint the vacant Executive Officer positions. Chris Snide was appointed as VP Development, while Kyla Burry was appointed to the role of Secretary, both by majority vote.

Kyla Burry was previously the BDMHA VP of U7/U9 and most recent BDMHA Volunteer of the year. Kyla was also a driving force in making the BDMHA Joanne Lenihan Tournament a success and will work closely with Megan to ensure this tournament is again a showcase for BDMHA.

Chris Snide had been the Equipment manager for BDMHA the past three years and accepted the appointment to VP of Competitive in November of 2022. After helping to roll-out the BDMHA promote model, the executive felt his experience could prove invaluable as we work to improve upon last year. Chris has also worked closely with Andre and Christien to deliver on our coach training and development classes. It was felt by the Executive, Andre and Christien that Chris would be able to continue the invaluable pieces of training Christien put in place last year.
