BDMHA Hires New Hockey Development Professional

BDMHA is pleased to announce that Mr. Andre Lefebvre has accepted the role as the association's Hockey Development Professional (HDP). Andre will officiallyassume this position on May 16, 2022.  Andre comes with significant hockey experience with over 20 years of coaching and hockey skill development. Andre is forward thinking, collaborative, has exceptional leadership skills, and a very strong development background. 

 

Andre completed this past season as the Head Coach of the Halifax Wolverines Major U15 team, is currently the General Manager of the South Shore Lumberjacks Jr. A Hockey Club of the Maritime Hockey League and is the Nova Scotia Scout for the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL. Moreover, Andre has coached with Dalhousie Men’s Varsity in the AUS (skills coach), the NSU18MHL with the Cole Harbour Wolfpack, Valley Wildcats, the NSU15MHL (Gulls & Halifax ACCEL Hawks), St. Mary’s Huskies (AUS), various minor hockey levels, and was the Director of Hockey Development at Summit Academy in Bedford from 2017 to 2021. Andre was named the 2018-19 NS Major U18 Coach of the Year. 

 

He participated with Hockey Canada’s 2017 National U17 Program Selection Camp and was a member Hockey NS High Performance program taking on various roles over the course of 10 seasons.  He was Head Coach of the 2014 Male U14 ACC Gold Medal team, Asst. Coach of 2015 Male U16 QMJHL Gatorade Challenge Silver Medal team, and Head Coach of the 2017 & 2018 U16 QMJHL Gatorade Challenge Teams.

 

He worked as a Head Scout for the Yarmouth Mariners Junior A Team and as the Atlantic Scout for Val D’or and Shawinigan in the QMJHL. 

 

 

As a player Andre won back-to-back Atlantic Major U18 Titles and was drafted by Val D’or of the QMJHL.  He also played for Valleyfield in the LHJAAAQ.

 

 

He is very excited to be coming home to Bedford & District Minor Hockey Association and is looking forward to working and contributing to the success of the teams, players, and our association. Andre lives in Bedford with his wife Christine, and two sons John-Pierre and Roddie.
